Adel Al MutawaQtel Executive DirectorAdel AlMutawa joined Qtel as Manager of International Relations in September 2005. He has actively represented Qtel locally and regionally by participating in various ministerial meetings with ICTQatar and committee meetings for the Arab League. Adel initiated Qtel into membership of organizations like ETSI (full form), and led the delegation with ITU (full form). Adel is well-versed in the local telecom regulations and has received significant international exposure through both professional and personal travels. Adel started his career as the Head of Operations at Ministry of Civil Services Affairs & Housing where he helped develop the IT department by implementing Oracle, Novel and other software and hardware. Before joining Qtel, Adel worked with the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs where he started his career as Telecom Systems Coordinator in the First Deputy Prime Minister's Office. Promoted as Second Secretary, he was responsible for all aspects of telecommunication systems in the Ministry and for H.E First Deputy Prime Minister's office. During his tenure he was responsible for the installation of Nortel Option 11c with VoIP, and negotiations and implementation of VSAT networks for the Ministry. He participated in the 59th Meeting of the United Nations as a Member representing the State of Qatar. Adel represented the Ministry in the force for signal encryption in the telecom infrastructure for the ministry. Adel holds a Higher Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering from the Qatar University. He completed an UNISTAR course in 2004 in the United Nations (New York) and has attended several Telecom courses in the UK and Germany. Adel enjoys Tennis, fishing, snorkeling and other sea activities.
