Welcome to the Winter Edition of the ME-IR Society Newsletter.

2011 has been an exciting year for the Middle East Investor Relations Society and the Executive Committee would like to thank all of the strategic partners and the wider ME-IR Society team for making our progress possible.

The introduction of a new corporate governance structure at the beginning of the year proved successful and resulted in streamlined priorities and objectives. Country Chapters and the Education Committee have raised their profiles significantly, with regular meetings and events held in various countries across the Middle East.

In May we held an IR Conference with the Qatar Exchange followed by CIRO training in June and July. During the latter part of the summer, meetings were held in Oman, Kuwait and the UAE to finalize Chapters. September saw the first ever IR conference held in Saudi Arabia, hosted by the ME-IR Society and Merrill Lynch. October saw more training and strengthening of our international links to the Russian IR Society and UK IRS. November was also a busy time, with the ME-IR Society Annual Conference and Awards (details of which can be found below) along with the launch of our CIRO Level 2 IR training.

Approximately 30 new members have joined the Society this year, including significant numbers from Saudi Arabia, Palestine and the UAE. As a non for profit organization, this support and sponsorship is vital to our development. Please do contact us if you would like to help our growth and influence by becoming a strategic partner!
